Wejo is a technology company that offers products and services based on data from connected vehicles. I joined Wejo during its early start-up phase, initially developing the visual brand identity and specialising in mobile app UI/UX design. I then went on to to lead creative design, brand identity and website design and development through to the company's listing on the NASDAQ in the Autumn of 2021.
Working in a fast growth technology start-up presented a plethora of design challenges as the company developed from customer-facing mobile apps to a B2B-focused data, cloud and analytics services provider operating in markets across the world.
Typically for an ambitious start-up, Wejo was shaped through various significant stages of development. For me, this manifested in multiple brand building projects and the creation of a flexible visual brand identity and guidelines that remained relevant and resilient to many changes in business priorities over the course of several years.

UI & visual direction
Through the development of the business, I managed the design and development of the company website from a relatively small brochure site to a comprehensive, SEC-compliant corporate website with multiple sub domains and roll-out of multi-lingual variants.
Wejo's prolific rate of development and ambition meant I would continually assess resources and tech stack to make sure it supported business goals and strongly aligned with the brand. To achieve this, I created a design system so that new sections and features could be rapidly built, created wireframes and provided art direction for key areas of UI design and animation, and sourced & managed specialist developer resources.
